Sounds familiar…

You can read an interesting interview about Hamas with Steven A. Cook on the website of the Council on Foreign Relations here. I disagree with a couple of things he says, but I won’t get into it. The most interesting part is this little tidbit that I hadn’t heard before:

Technically Fatah won more of the popular votes, but a quirk in the electoral law gave Hamas a majority of the seats in the Palestinian parliament.

One more reason I don’t believe in jerrymandering representative democracy. First Bush, then Hamas.
