John McCain is going to Israel next week. Well done, Gramps.
Frankly, I think that this should be illegal. The man who pioneered campaign finance reform is using his role as a senior Senator (and citizen) to stage what is essentially a three day campaign commercial and travel around touting his foreign policy experience with a couple of his surrogates. Alright, maybe not illegal. But everyone should realize that this is little more than McCain’s way to buy TV time cheaply. And I’m inclined to question the sincerity of whatever he says over there. It will, for all intents and purposes, be a stump speech.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting what he has to say about the latest progress in this horrible, seemingly intractable situation. (See the latest Haaretz if you want details.)
