This just in: Fidel Castro, who has been in power since 1959, resigned as commander in chief and president of Cuba tonight. No more details yet as far as I can tell. I happen to know this before it has gotten any press because I am watching CNN at 3:00 in the morning. But it raises a lot of interesting questions. What happens to Communism in Cuba now? What will Bush say tomorrow? How will this affect American-Cuban trade? Will Raoul, Fidel’s brother, be any different from Fidel?
More information and analysis to come from everyone else, I’m sure.
