In case you haven’t seen it yet, an Iraqi TV journalist threw his shoes at President Bush in Baghdad this morning during Bush’s largely ceremonial visit. Here’s a video:
What can you expect when you’re the least popular person in the world and you are visiting a country that you, out of some twisted ideology or maybe just simple arrogance, decided to destroy? I’m not shocked.
But while we’re laughing at this (and it is funny) let’s not forget that Muntadar al-Zeidi, the 29 year old Baghdadi who threw his shoes, is probably being tortured right now.
